Looking for advice on a rack or other system for a car to carry both a bike and surfboard, please help!

Hey all,

I want to thank everyone in advance for any help provided. I have been desperately looking for a system for my car that can accommodate both a bike and a surf board (they do not need to be carried at the same time). I have a 2014 Acura TSX without any roof rails on the car currently (so it is like any other standard sedan roof). My car does not have a trailer hitch hook up.

I am guessing that I will need to start with getting roof rails on the car then maybe some cross bars? Should I just get a roof basket and then figure out how to strap bikes / surf / other equipment to that? Does anyone make a car system that can carry both? Is there anything out there that has like accessories to roof rails or something specifically for bikes and another for surf boards? Clearly I have no clue what I am talking about and need assistance.

I am a 20 something year old worker bee so I do not have a lot of money to spare. Any help is GREATLY appreciated! I am not sure what I should do, please help!
