Jeep ‘Gladiator’ Pickup Truck Photos, Details Leaked https://ift.tt/2RQSWVG

One Jeep forum claims to have the found the first official peek at the 2020 Jeep Gladiator Pickup.

Diehard Jeep fans purportedly managed to sleuth a peek at the first Jeep pickup truck in decades. Originally thought to carry the Scrambler nameplate, Jeep will dub its 2020 pickup truck the “Gladiator,” according to the Jeep Gladiator Forum.

The forum’s moderators said Fiat Chrysler Automobiles leaked the photos and info on its media site before promptly removing them. But the cat seems to be out of the bag — here’s what we know.

According to the forum images, the Gladiator carries the same boxy good looks as its Wrangler and Rubicon cousins. Images show the iconic grille, round headlights, square taillights, and four doors. And judging by the badging, the pickup will carry the Rubicon build.

The specs sheet claims there will be a crew cab configuration as well as a single soft-top and two hard-top options. As for power, the specs claim two options: a 3.6-L Pentastar V6 — available in eight-speed automatic or six-speed manual — and a 3.0-L EcoDiesel V6 in eight-speed automatic.

According to the leaked document, the Gladiator will boast best-in-class towing and payload capacities. The 4×4 Gladiator advertises up to 7,650-pound towing capacity and a 1,600-pound payload.

And to carry that payload, this Jeep sports a 5-foot small bed perched atop 33-inch off-road tires. The info also claims “unmatched crawl ratios” and water-fording capability up to 30 inches.

Like a true Jeep, the documents also promise a fold-down windshield and “dozens of door, top, and windshield combinations.”

And as for tech, the spec sheet lists a fourth-generation Uconnect system for Apple Play and Android Auto. It also notes options for a 7- or 8.4-inch touchscreen and a forward-facing off-road camera for truly gnarly pursuits.
