Tepui Wants to Pay You to Go on Your Dream Road Trip

Tepui Tents wants to pay you to go on an adventure.

This is your chance to go on the trip you’ve always wanted to take but just haven’t had the cash or resources. Now through February 25, tell the brand about your dream road trip—the who, what, where, why, when, and how long—and include a short video. On April 2, Tepui will pick ten winning groups and give them $2,000 each and the gear to support the trip, which must happen before September 30, 2019. It’s that simple.

Winners will be responsible for producing photos, videos, and blog posts during their trips that will be shared on Tepui’s platforms throughout the year. After the trips are over, the cartop tent maker will award an additional $5,000 to the participants who participants who submit the best footage, and an additional $2,000 to the four other top teams.

Tepui founder Evan Currid assures that you don’t have to be a seasoned adventurer or world traveler to contend for a prize. The contest is intended for anyone with a passion for the outdoors. “When the journey has as much thrill and discovery as the destination, you know you’re on an endless adventure,” Currid says. “Seeking out epic wilderness treks, carving out new trails, getting lost to get found…all of this embodies the spirit of ‘endless adventure.’”

Likewise, the trips don’t have to be far off or extreme, nor do they have to be oriented around some major destination. It’s the daily rituals, the general spirit of adventure, and the camaraderie of the road that Tepui wants to support and capture.

“It is the coffee in the morning,” Currid says, “the gamble at an unmarked intersection, laughter around the campfire that truly capture a road trip.”
